You're invited to shape the future of field pea production in Western Canada by participating in our survey, Agricultural Producer Preferences for Future Pea Varieties – we are interested in the opinions of current pea producers, those who have grown field pea in the past, as well as those who have never grown field pea.

Conducted by the University of Saskatchewan and part of the Genome Canada-funded PEACE project, your responses—whether you grow peas or not—will help plant breeders develop varieties specifically suited to producer needs, including better root rot resistance, drought tolerance, and improved yields. In recognition of your valuable input and time (about 20-30 minutes), you'll receive compensation ranging from $50 to $233.50, based on responses to survey tasks designed to understand your risk preferences.

There are no known or anticipated risks to you that would occur through your participation in this research, and all data collected will be anonymized (personal information will only be used by the survey firm to manage compensation, and no personal information will be provided to the USask). If you choose to withdraw up to one month after the survey is completed, you may contact Insightrix directly at 1-888-564-5640 to have your information deleted. After that, it is possible that some form of data analysis will have already occurred and it will not be possible to withdraw your data. Data will be stored electronically on the PIs’ password-encrypted computers in a locked office, and shared with the student researcher through secure and encrypted shared drives. Data may be publicly shared upon publication of the results in a scientific journal and the data will be retained for at least five years post-publication. Data collected from this survey will be used in a Master’s thesis, in reports/publications, and potentially in educational applications in USask courses. Participation is voluntary and you may decide not to participate at any time by closing your browser, after which any data you have provided will be deleted. The survey will be managed by survey firm Insightrix using the Forsta platform (see here for Forsta’s privacy policy). By completing and submitting this questionnaire, your free and informed consent is implied and indicates that you understand the above conditions of participation in this study.

You can pause and resume your survey responses, so you can complete it as time allows. You can leave the survey at any point, and the system will automatically save the last page completed, as long as you continue using the same device. However, once you complete the survey, you will no longer be able to access it.
